How do I connect/login my CloudCella system?
Click the link in your subscription confirmation email and enter the provided username and password in your browser. Click to download/install the Conductor Desktop application and log in using the same username/password to get started. Conductor Desktop provides the main user interface to CloudCella.
Can I connect to my CloudCella warehouse database using standard SQL tools from my desktop/laptop or from my company’s server?
Certainly. You can use any ODBC/JDBC PostgreSQL driver (or SQLServer driver if you opted for the SQL Server CloudCella option) and connect directly to your CloudCella data warehouse database using your favorite SQL tool.
What does the version of Conductor Desktop that comes with CloudCella let me do?
Conductor Desktop is the main user interface to CloudCella. It runs on your local PC and gives you access to all of the power of the CloudCella system in the cloud. This includes, user management, connection management, data ingest/parse/load, data discovery, input data feed management, data unification / standardization, data model management, workflow management, scheduling, system monitoring, output data feed management, etc.
What databases does CloudCella support/provide?
You can request a standard PostgreSQL, massively parallel processing (MPP) PostgreSQL (RedShift) or a Microsoft SQL Server warehouse database when you subscribe to CloudCella.
How do I get data into my CloudCella system?
Simply copy your data to a CloudCella folder using FTP/SFTP (the connection info is provided in your subscription confirmation email) and run the Input Wizard to parse and load it. Any additional data that is copied to that CloudCella folder in the future gets automatically loaded.
How do I get data out of my CloudCella system or set up a machine to machine interface?
Simply run the Output Wizard to create and schedule any desired output. Output data can be picked up from CloudCella output folder using FTP/SFTP, downloaded via web browser or emailed to the desired recipient.
How do I report on data in my CloudCella system?
CloudCella includes a powerful and easy to use Business Intelligence system based on Tableau which allows you to create and run any report or dashboard you can imagine. In addition, the built-in query editor allows you to create and run any tabular reports you can think of.
What file formats do you support?
The Input Wizard supports ASCII or UTF-8 files with delimited fields (comma separated, tab separated, pipe separated, caret separated, etc) with or without quoted strings. It also supports files with fixed width fields, as well as simple XML. If you need to be able to load data in a different format (ASN.1, binary, etc), just let us know and we would be happy to provide a quote for a custom parser that will suit your needs.
How quickly will my files load?
When using the Input Wizard, each file will take several minutes to load as the system is evaluating, configuration and processing the data in a single threaded manner. Once the input feed is configured and data is being presented in bulk, the system will parse and ingest data much faster. The actual parse and load rates will vary based on the exact CloudCella configuration but, in general, our parse and load rates are typically in the 2-5 MBps range per load thread.
Can I schedule reoccurring loads?
Of course. By default, all enabled feeds constantly monitor their input folder on the LandingZone and automatically process any data that is deposited there.
Can I remove data after I’ve loaded it?
Absolutely. Using the Data Lifetime Wizard, CloudCella allows you configure your preferences for how long to retain each of the various categories of data. The system will automatically take care of purging old data according to the preferences you set up.
Can you pull data or do I need to push the data somewhere?
Typically, most customers push the data to the LandingZone using FTP/SFTP. If you would like us to automatically pull data on a schedule from your systems, let us know and we can provide details on how you can get a local software agent running on one or more hosts in your network to push data to your CloudCella system.
Can I immediately transform data upon load?
The standard CloudCella workflows perform the load independently and asynchronously from the unify/transformation to provide optimum performance, load balancing and efficiency. If you have a specific need to run these two operations sequentially and synchronously, let us know and we can help you configure this.
Do I receive notifications if I’m running out of space?
CloudCella comes complete with full system monitoring built in. You can configure this to notify you of just about any system condition you want to be alerted about. Please consult the users guide for details on configuring the alerts.
Who do I contact if my system is down/unresponsive?
Simply create a support ticket 24 hours a day and our support staff will be right on it.
Do you have 24x7 support?
Yes. All customers have 24×7 support. Please consult the support agreement for terms, response times and SLAs.
Can I shut down my system to save money if I know I won’t be using it for a while?
Yes. If you know that you will not be using your CloudCella system for an extended period of time, let us know and we can put your system on-hold. While your system is on-hold, you will pay a reduced monthly rate to keep your system and you data in a state of suspended animation. When you are ready to resume normal service, let us know and you can continue right where you left off.
